A graduate from the University of Nairobi School of Law, she joined the institution in 1997 graduating in 2001 where she was admitted to the bar. She’s an associate with her father and brother in Kilonzo and Company Advocates.
Her areas of specialization include: capital markets litigation, commercial law, sport litigation, legal drafting of bills, civil and criminal litigation among others.
She’s also an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and also a
law lecturer at the University of Nairobi. Apart from studying law, she was
also the top student in Kenya in the 2006 audit examination conducted by the
Association of Certified Accountants.
If her submissions in the CORD petition contribute to a a ruling in the petitioners favour by the Supreme court, it will not be her first triumph in
the courts as she has also been involved in a number of cases which have been a
complete success. For example she represented former president Moi against
former MP Waki Onyang’o. The latter had sued the former on accounts of unlawful
detainment but Kethi came to the rescue.
She also represented clients against KRA last year together with her brother whether the said clients were awarded 10 million by the courts. Despite her parents divorcing at an early age, she has grown to greater heights both in her career and her social life, considering she has to balance all this with her motherly role.
